Each transition piece has a height of 24 meters and a weight of approximately 550 tons. Fabrication and loadout of all 64 transition pieces took place at Bladt Industries’ production facilities in Aalborg, Denmark.
Calvados offshore wind farm: Last transition piece left Aalborg
On Friday June 26, the last transition piece for the Calvados offshore wind farm in France sailed out from our location in Aalborg to marshaling destination in Vlissingen, Holland.

With the load out of the last 8 of a total of 64 foundations, Bladt has completed the scope of work for the project.

The Calvados offshore wind farm will consist of 64 wind turbines with a total capacity of 450 MW and will be located more than 10 km off the French coast in water depths ranging from 22 to 31 meters. The wind farm will produce enough electricity to supply 630,000 people, which is more than 90% of the people who live in the Calvados region.
