Second OSS for Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind in Aalborg
Work on the second offshore substation for the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project for Dominion Energy has been started at our production site in Aalborg, Denmark.
In total, three OSS’s will be outfitted at the site, ready for shipment for Virginia, USA.
“Every time we need to create one part, we have to make it three times. The topsides are identical. You could say we’re dealing with triplets on this project. There’s no discernible difference in our scope.”
That is how Johan Bank, Senior Project Manager, CS WIND Offshore describes the three offshore substations that will be delivered to the USA for one of the country’s largest offshore wind farms.
Pre-fabrication has taken place with sub supplier in Poland and Spain.
CS WIND Offshore together with our partner Semco Maritime will continue the works to make the substations ready for producing clean energy for the US market.
