World’s largest wind farm – construction initiated
The world’s largest offshore wind farm – Hornsea Project One Offshore Wind Farm – will have three Bladt Industries-built offshore substations at the heart of operations after DONG Energy in May this year awarded us a PC contract to deliver the structures.
The process of turning the approximately 3,000 tons of steel into the structures has now begun with prefabrication well under way.
Each substation will weigh 2,800 tons and the first substation will be delivered during the first half of 2018.
The contract is a massive vote of confidence in our ability to deliver large projects, and it’s the first time we secured a contract to fabricate three substations at the same time for one project as serial production.
The electrical work is sub-contracted to our long-term partner Semco Maritime.
