Vineyard Wind 1: Sail away of substation and jacket for the first commercial scale offshore wind farm in the US
25th of May 2023 marks a significant date for the Vineyard Wind 1 project, as the offshore substation and jacket foundation left the quay at Bladt Industries’ production site in Southern Denmark heading for its destination 35 miles from mainland Massachusetts.
Last transition piece for Vesterhav Nord & Syd project
This weekend, the last transition piece (TP) for the Vesterhav Nord project sailed out from our location in Aalborg to it’s final destination in the Danish North Sea. Earlier this year Bladt has delivered another 20 TP’s for Vesterhav Syd.

- We find it difficult to get enough qualified labour, which is why we have to automate as much as we possibly can. There will still be a need for skilled blacksmiths and welders in the future, but we won't quite reach our goal without automation, says Nis Hansen, lead welding engineer at Bladt Industries.
The Bladt journey continues – now with a new highly experienced Executive Committee in place
Over the past two and a half years Bladt Industries has been on a journey; From a supplier of complex steel constructions to both oil and gas and infrastructure projects, to being a pureplay renewable energy player focused solely on producing and delivering substations, transition pieces and foundations to the offshore wind industry. Most recently a new Executive Committee has been established to lead the efforts to progress further.

A consortium of strategic partners Bladt Industries and Semco Maritime has been appointed selected supplier of two offshore substations for the Baltic Power project, a joint venture of ORLEN Group and Northland Power Inc. aiming to supply more than 1.5 million households with clean power by 2026.
